Along the Single Girl journey, I’ve been fortunate to have people support the project with their offering of a service or good that they can provide. I’m grateful for these offers and will take people up on it when I can. Through it all, my response is always, “Just do something kind for someone else. ” Not sure how? Here are some simple ways you can give back to your world:
- Pay for the person behind you while getting coffee
- Brush snow off of somebody’s car or shovel them out
- Make an extra sandwich for someone you know that may be less fortunate
- Give someone your seat on the train
- Offer help to people with strollers (those things are heavy!)
- Give someone a compliment
- Smile at a stranger
- Call up a friend that you haven’t spoken to in a while
- Be a good listener
- Do your roommate’s dishes
- Volunteer for an organization or cause you believe in
- Let someone ahead of you in line at the grocery store
- Instead of one, buy two water bottles at the store and give one to someone in need
- Donate your old clothes instead of taking them to consignment shops
- Hold the door open for someone with an armful
- Send a surprise “Thinking of you” card and mean it
What are some other ways you can help out? Have you been inspired to go out and do kindness acts of your own? Tell me about them! I’d love to hear how Single Girl Cookies has helped the goodness grow in your neighborhood. Email me: singlegirlcookies@gmail.com
I saw you through the live feed of he will not divide us at the museum of moving image in Astoria and decided to Google the kindness you bring to the world and it is just simply beautiful what you do and you were blessed with a beautiful heart..
